Police Seek Moped Riders After Fatal Hammersmith Collision

Authorities are actively searching for two individuals involved in a fatal moped collision in Hammersmith, which resulted in the death of Ina Rodrigues.

The incident occurred on 16 January on Talgarth Road, and the moped was later found abandoned. Police have released CCTV footage in hopes of identifying the rider and passenger, urging the public to assist in the investigation.

The tragic event unfolded on a Tuesday evening when Ina Rodrigues, aged 58, was crossing the road at the intersection with Gliddon Road. The moped, carrying two unidentified individuals, struck her, leading to severe injuries. Despite receiving medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries on 21 January.

Detective Constable Matt Jackson, from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, is spearheading the investigation. He emphasised the urgency of identifying the individuals involved, stating, "Our investigation has managed to track the moped to where it was abandoned, but we now need the public's help to try and identify the two people who were on it at the time of the collision." He further highlighted the profound impact on Rodrigues's family, who are desperate for answers and closure.

The police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that could lead to identifying the moped's occupants. Witnesses are encouraged to contact the authorities via the 24-hour hotline or the Serious Collision Investigation Unit witness line.
