RNLI Chiswick Lifeboat and Police Pursue Body of Chemical Attack Suspect in Thames

The collaborative effort between the RNLI Chiswick Lifeboat and local police authorities intensifies as they join forces in a concerted operation to locate the body of Abdul Ezedi, the prime suspect in a recent and harrowing chemical attack that unfolded in Clapham. Prompted by leads suggesting Ezedi might have entered the River Thames following the assault, the search commenced at 8:50 am in the vicinity of Vauxhall and Chelsea bridges.

Ezedi, who managed to evade authorities for a tense 10 days following the heinous assault that inflicted severe injuries upon his ex-partner and her daughters, was last captured on CCTV leaning over Chelsea Bridge on the night of the attack. Despite exhaustive efforts to track him down, complete with public warnings against approaching him, the latest behavioral analysis paints a somber picture, indicating the possibility that Ezedi might have chosen to end his own life.

Commander Jon Savell, leading the operation, emphasizes the formidable challenges inherent in navigating the unpredictable currents and hazards of the Thames. He notes the uncertainty surrounding the recovery of Ezedi's body, cautioning that it could span weeks or even longer, adding an additional layer of complexity to an already intricate search.

Meanwhile, Ezedi's ex-partner continues to grapple with the aftermath of the vicious attack, hospitalized and undergoing treatment for the life-changing injuries inflicted upon her and her children. The ongoing investigation, spearheaded by authorities, remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.

The collaborative synergy between the RNLI Chiswick Lifeboat and the police serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of emergency responders to ensure public safety.
