A Chiswick Local Travelled To Bucharest For A Spa Day - Cheaper Than Local Options!

A Chiswick traveler has shared her experience of embarking on an affordable spa day adventure in Romania, spending a total of just £136. Opting for a unique getaway, Lauren Francis, a 24-year-old from West London, chose Therme Bucharest for her pampering escapade.

Commencing her journey with an early morning flight from London's Stansted, Lauren touched down in Bucharest by 1 pm. With only an afternoon to spare in the country, she was determined to make the most of her brief visit.

The spa, ranking as the second-largest in Europe, came at an astonishingly low cost of £32 for the entire day, granting Lauren access to nine pools, 10 saunas, and an impressive 16 waterslides. Her day ticket also provided entry to outdoor pools, steam rooms, and luxurious hammams.

Expressing her satisfaction, Lauren remarked, "I felt so relaxed and refreshed coming out of the spa; it was a really nice way to break up January with some me time." Intrigued by the affordability and allure of Therme, she decided to embark on this adventure after discovering it on TikTok.

Describing Therme as a cross between a spa and an indoor resort, Lauren reveled in the experience, indulging in mineral pools, saunas, face masks, and even trying out the infrared beds. To enhance her day, she treated herself to a few cocktails, spending a modest £25.

The overall cost for the day amounted to just over £130, with Lauren securing inexpensive flights on Skyscanner three weeks before her journey. The return flights to Romania were priced at £53, and an additional £16 covered her transportation to Stansted airport with her Railcard. A £10 expense for transportation from the airport to the spa completed her spending for the entire spa day experience.

Having enjoyed her budget-friendly adventure in Romania, Lauren is now gearing up for another excursion, planning a day out in Stockholm, Sweden, at the end of the month. The return flight for this upcoming escapade has set her back a mere £42.
