Chiswick Rugby Club Planning Women's Team, Embracing Inclusivity and Growth in 2024

Chiswick Rugby Club proudly announces that is is planning on establishing its first Women's rugby team in 2024, marking a significant milestone for the club. With a growing interest in women's rugby nationwide, the club is excited to welcome female players into its ranks.

The decision to introduce a Women's unit reflects the increasing popularity of women's rugby, with more than a quarter of the overall playing population now female. Since 2017, there has been a notable 28 per cent increase in registered female players, underscoring the growing demand for women's rugby opportunities.

With women's representation comprising a third of the members on the World Rugby Council, the sport is witnessing unprecedented inclusivity and participation. Women are actively involved in shaping the future of rugby, ensuring its continued growth and development.
